Dear Mr. Knight,
I would have referred to you by the name you wish to be called, however, I respect myself and our people (African Americans) too much to tolerate you wanting to be called the N word. Therefore, I will refer to you as Mr. Knight because, in my book, all of my black, African American brothers are Kings and not to be diminished by a word that was meant to break us and tear us down.
The N word carries the African American struggle and war wounds, which are currently being treated today! A lot of people have lost their lives behind the word and guess what, Mr. Knight? Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was NOT born in Africa, nevertheless, he died so that African Americans like you and me would not be categorized by such a word but, rather, that we would be judged by the content of our character and NOT the color of our skin. We fought for freedoms that, I am sure, you have utilized at some point in your life - You know, the freedom to sit in the front and not the back of anywhere or anything, for example. We, now, Mr. Knight, have a choice.
Mr. Knight, You have the power to impact the lives of many. Therefore, please don’t push our people back by making such a lackadaisical statement. Let’s uplift and not tear down. We have come too far to be pushed back. Let’s move forward, NOT backward.
Now that you viewed the video tell us if you think Suge Knight’s viewpoint justifies being called the N word? What’s your take? SPEAK ON IT.
